For whom: “The Disappearance of Josef Mengele” is a film based on the novel of the same name by Olivier Guez. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, Josef Mengele — the Nazi doctor who practiced at Auschwitz extermination camp — managed to escape from Germany. From Buenos Aires to Paraguay, with stays in the Brazilian jungle, the so-called “Angel of Death” orchestrated his systematic disappearance and escaped any form of trial.
